Assistant Professor · Department of Mathematics and Statistics · Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati
Welcome! I am a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati. Before coming to Tirupati I was an Assistant Professor at IIIT Delhi and a research fellow at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York. I received my PhD in Mathematics from The Pennsylvania State University.
My research is in ergodic theory and smooth dynamical systems. Much of it uses the approximation-by-conjugation (Anosov–Katok) method to build smooth and real-analytic diffeomorphisms with prescribed ergodic behaviour, and studies their invariants, such as slow entropy, spectral properties and mixing. I have also worked on machine learning, designing smooth trainable activation functions for deep networks, and on the ergodic theory of quantum channels.
